We had a “cozy” service last week in the Knapp room as the sanctuary seemed a bit too chilly. Reverend Rawls led us through the imagery of trees...planted near streams of water as we must be planted near God’s living water...yielding fruit in season and not withering. We must “choose to be people of blessing.”
In our prayers this week, we will keep each of those we named last Sunday. Last Sunday was also the anniversary of our son Jamie’s heaven date. Both the Beatitudes and the hymn “Be now My Vision” of last week’s service were are part of his funeral six years ago. Although sad reminders, they were also some of the many coincidences that remind us of God’s mercy.
Reverend Carol Rawls will continue to lead us through this week’s new testament reading Luke 6:27-38 on “loving your enemies, doing good, and lend, expecting nothing in return.” Jeff Junker will be our lay worship leader.
